Excellent tale of the military buying circuit. My wife bought her first and second Saab through military sales at Rhein-Main and then Ramstein. She picked up the first 900S in 1989 at the factory (I hadn't met her yet). Then on her second tour of Germany and my first we picked up the second Saab 900S also at the factory in Sweden in 1996. What a great way to start the Saab ownership experience!
We picked up our two latest Saab 9-5s at the dealership here in Texas. Not as exciting as overseas. I miss the open autobahn and organized driving with people actually using their turn signals and staying in the right lane except to pass.
Enjoy your Saabs!
