FWIW, this is a global automotive market, and a small Co like Saab has always had to use some "off-the-shelf" parts to make cars semi-economically in small volumes. This will not change, and part sharing will become more common. Everyone does it, and Saab is even more vulnerable due to low volume.
Personally, I would rather they use more common accessories, so that I could get less expensive parts with better availability. Expensive/hard to get parts suck when you keep your car for the long run. I agree that the parts you see matter (interior bits and such) but the bowtie radio look fine in the new 9-5. I have seen it and used it. It works. I would rather Saab spend more effort on fixing stuff that doesn't work, than reinventing something that does. FWIW
