I've got a two-stroke Sonett, and I've always wondered if it could be stolen. The key is just a key-switch - you could pull it out with your fingers and jumper the wires on the back.
But-
You need to turn the key to ON for at least 15 seconds for the electric fuel pumps to fill the float bowl - try and start it right away, and it'll stall. And you need to play the choke like a fine violin for the first 5 minutes or you'll foul the plugs and the car will just sit.
Don't slip the clutch just right, and you'll stall it. And do the hot restart wrong, and the plugs will foul.
And it's got a four-speed on the steering column - I've had the car over 20 year and I have to think about where the gears are.
So nobody is driving off with it. But four decent size guys could lift it into the bed of a pickup truck and drive off.
