The car is a '96 900 SET. I didn't get into the problem in the earlier post so Scott wouldn't move it over to the NG900 BB ;> (I actually posted about it there a couple times and didn't have any luck.) In a nutshell the issue is that the Check Gear Box light keeps coming on and the car goes into what the indie is calling "limp mode." He says he has checked out all the basics, such as the neutral switch, the computer and its connections, etc. and hasn't been able to figure out what is wrong. The indie has supposably been in business for 30 years working almost exclusively on SAAB's and has never encountered this problem before. Out of "obvious" solutions, he says his next step is to print out a schematic and do "resistance testing" on every connection around the whole system. He has always seemed fair in the past so I don't have a real reason to question what is going on, but it sure is frustrating as hell and I am starting to get concerned about the cost involved in trying all the previous fixes, such as re-replacing the Neutral Switch that we knew to be new.
