I lived in Clifton NJ briefly and then in Edison for about 3 years and had a job where I was on the road going to customer sites every day. I had customers in the Gateway Centers (Newark, #1), along the ship harbor (Elizageth, #3), and out in the development area along the point in Jersey City (#7). Drivers in northern NJ are aggressive for sure.
But, "Best" and "Worst" Driver labels don't really seem appropriate considering the data set given here to support; what is really documented is high and low risk areas to drive/live-in.
That said, one morning I was driving a rental car and did get hit by a guy driving a garbage truck who was pulling onto the road from a parking lot and deliberately ran into the side of my car because he believed he had the right-of-way. We had eye contact the whole time, and I was on the horn. When I realized he really wasn't going to stop I moved as far into the oncoming lane as possible and stopped (there were cars coming the other way) and he ran slow-speed into the right front side because he truly thought (according to the Police) that it would be my fault when he hit me. As if that weren't enough, after he ran into me he jumped out of his truck and was making his towards me like he wanted to fight. When I jumped out too he stopped and stayed by his truck and settled with cussing me out from there until the cops came. Very interesting morning that one. Hmm, maybe NJ drivers are the worst...
