and I believe it was $15 to $20 for a 25# bag. I bought it during a Sale but you can check their web site for current prices. Pool filter sand was dirt cheap (pun intended) at one time but it has increased in price recently.
Zeolite is a mineral of volcanic origins with pitted nodular shaped particles, possibly slightly coarser than the standard pool sand, but apparently it is porous and the finest filtration occurs by the water passing through the pores rather than by passing only between the grains. It was Greenish-blue in color but I don't know if that is a characteristic of the mineral or the manufacturer/marketer of the brand I purchased.
