Especially if you like to hike or fish. Since the late seventies I've hiked up the trail to snowmass lake dozens of times, for a day trip or a pack trip. Gorgeous valley, and used to be some of the best fishin for bows in Colorado, plenty of 16" to 22" fish from a naturally reproducing lake. Last time I was there about 3 yrs ago it was way too heavily used but the fishing while still good was not what it used to be. Snowmass is the 4th largest natural lake in Colorado, about an 8 mile hike in.
And if you are more into stream fishing - the roaring fork can be very good.
Kinda wish I could break down there sometime, as long as I had my gear.
Hope you can get you car fixed, interesting to see what labor rates are for shops in Aspen, you may want to have it towed to Carbondale for repair.
