figure on maybe a week to the Canal. 2 days to transit (bring LOTS of your own lines!) Take three weeks to sail up as far as San Diego so you can hit some ports (Costa Rica, Mazatlan, Cabo, etc. Park the boat for a month or so, go home and work. Go back and get the boat and sail up the coast (2 weeks). Or do it all in one long cruise and swap crew in and out. I knew people who have moved boats in stages by swapping everyone on board. One set of friends does one leg, another comes on goes for a couple weeks, etc.
You could still hire a delivery crew, but it's probably 3500 to 4000 miles of sailing, so it's a 1.5 to 2 months, at least. You could also combine a hired crew for some of it and then sail it yourself for some. Maybe have a crew get the boat to Cabo and you take it up the coast from there.
You could also sell the boat and buy one up in OR. Water is rougher up there so you might find yourself wanting a different kind of boat.
