High Life is a damn good beer, not at all bitter, tasty and is fine when warm. MHL is brewed using corn as well as barley, but unlike most other macrobrews, no rice. Perfect for the golf bag too - Sierra Nevadas or Smuttynoses or Saranacs are just way too heavy for that purpose, but Coors (& Bud, Mich) lights are crap.
Its funny that while my buddies grudgingly admit that High Life tastes better than Bud, Coors etc, they simply will not buy it. Hype and image conquer all, apparently.
Also, here in NY, Saranac is a great bargain. Not in the rarefied air of the top microbrews, but very good all the same and priced comparable to the macrobrews. If you can find them, Cooperstown Brewing's beers (Strike Out Stout, Benchwarmer Porter etc) are great. Avoid the Pride of Milford one. Yuck.
