agree. had the hinged temple ones before. they were ok. Tried the titanium ones - they just flex and don't have the hinged temples and are great! I shiedaway from them at first as the nose pieces reminded me of Aviators that I had years ago. Kept bending the nose stops and was a pain. The titanium ones look the same a first glance, but upon closer inspection the nose piece is secured to the frame in two places and really is strong! Got one pair two years ago, got a second last year. One is bifocal close reading/medium distance. the other is all reading. They are the best. My prescription isn't very much (just crips things up a bit), but eyes are different strength left/right reading and right/left for medium so no over the counter stuff works anymore. I like glass lenses so complete frames are a must. I have never gotten past about 3 months with plastic lenses before I scratched them, even the "scratch resistant" ones. dirty lenses make me crazy so I am always at the kitchen sink washing them with soap and water to get them crystal clear. The glass lasts and the plastic doesn't.
just my two cents...
