I'm an easy to deal with customer for the most part, I understand that mechanics are only human, however I do expect a level of profesionalism.

I don't feel the that people at TNT auto glass in Skowhegan, Me. Did a professional job on my SPG. I would like your opnions on this.

My windshield has been leaking around the bottom corners for a month or so, I made an appointment with TNT auto glass, they were to replace the weatherstrip with a new one, the molding would cost $100, and I was told it would be roughly an hours labor, another $50. I brought the car in, and waited for over 2 hours. One of the guys working on my car came to the waiting room, and asked me if I had glass coverage on my '86 SPG, I told him that I didn't &asked why &was told that they broke the windshield while reinstalling it. When I asked what my insurnace has to do with that, he replied that they did not cover broken windshields &that I would have to buy a new one. The starting price was $200 for new glass, I told him I didn't want to have to pay that kind of money &asked what his cost was, he looked it up &said $150 (during this time, the windshield was going in), we chatted for a few minutes about how much of a bummer this was, then the car was done. The bill ended up being $363.05.

It was getting dark out, so I hadn't really been able to inspect the car well until the next day, &this is what I found.

-exterior weatherstrip was poorly &messily installed, black urethane sealant was gooped on to hold the corner tabs in place, some getting on my paint. One small section of the strip was not adhered to the glass at all.
-Multiple light scratching was found on both sides of the hood, as well as in the center towards the bottom part of the windshield, that were absolutely not on the car before.
-The interior rubber strip that runs bewteen the windshield &the dash was installed poorly, as one side is in place &the passenger side is not tucked in all the way.

Any advice on what I should do? The work was done on the 21st. I'm pretty upset about it, especially the scratches on the hood (the paint was redone about 2 years ago &was beautiful).

The reason I went to see profesionals was so these sorts of things wouldn't happen..

Thanks
-Gordon Berry
