Cell Phone Interference. What could it be?

I’ve always had good reception with my Cingular service in my New York City apartment until a couple of weeks ago. The phone still shows full bars and I get excellent clarity from the speaker but the person on the other end of the call doesn’t hear my voice clearly at all. About every third word drops which makes a conversation very hard for them to follow. Sometimes it’s worse, sometimes better This happens for every call and afflicts both my personal Nokia and my work Blackberry (both are Cingular). They both works well in other places. I make a lot of calls for my apartment so this is a major inconvenience to say the least. I haven’t installed any new electronics and unplugging the wireless modem, TV, etc. has no effect.
I’m otherwise please with my phone and service, am in the middle of a contract with my personal phone, and can’t switch my work service, so I’m desperate to get this fixed. Any ideas would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Craig
