Technically, I suppose my solution does result in an "analog transfer" to digital media, not unlike early CDs that were originally recorded on analog multi-track machines, overdubs and all. (Got any Beatles or Motown CDs in your collection?)
Truth be told, is that really bad when you consider that what you're doing is freeing yourself of the limitations of vinyl (sound, noise, etc.) and making all those musical gems portable? Afterall, that's the product you're committing to CD, whether as an analog or a digital product (that old "chain...weakest link" thing). Can't be all that bad, wouldn't you agree?
