Here's another path you might want to consider... purchasing a CD recorder. Although not as prolific as they were 5-7 years ago (and no longer made for the most part), "consumer" stand-alone CD recorders from Philips, TDK and NextGen (don't know much about this company) can still be found on EBay. All connect to your music system's "tape out" circuit and essentially work like a cassette recorder. The catch is you MUST use an AUDIO CD blank disc, vs. just a blank CD (data, computer music, etc.).
The other shame of it is, DVD set-top recorders (rapidly replacing VCRs), while quite affordable, will not record audio for music replication in CD players.
If you want to do a one-n-done transfer project for vinyl to CD, and aren't looking to do lots of file transferring, this is an alternative worth considering.
