My guess is GM's current focus is to get Caddy to be seen globally as GM's luxury auto division and not SAAB. SAAB used to be the sport luxury icon for GM, but my guess is someone who has greater controlling interests wants the US home grown Caddy to be the glory division and not a foreign "GM" auto.
I would love to see a production version of the Aero X with a manual door opening option. I bet it would see a good amount and things like this could be pursued. It won first place! That was GM's opportunity right there, but BL said SAAB will never do it. I am afraid that if this were Toyota/Lexus, BMW, DaimC, Honda/Acura, Nissan/Infinity, or VW/Audi a concept like that would've been hit the production factories! GM will probably see what goods SAAB has and give it to Caddy and then Buick. If GM really understood the value of SAAB they would use it wisely and let SAAB bring in the money as a true sport luxury and use some of the money to grow other brands as well as the SAAB brand. For reasons like this SAAB may can do better under a different management and owner. This is just a thought and my opinion no intending to offend anyone.
