switchgear that feels and sounds good when you use it, like a Saab or Volvo, unlike any GM product (hopefully newer Saabs have 'saabier' switchgear than the usual GM carp)
doors that open nearly 90°. seats that are comfy and adjustable. controls i can reach easily but don't activate accidently. controls that are not ambiguous. good sight lines, narrow pillars, small blind spot. huge luggage space. human-sized back seats.
force-appropriate controls (steering, clutch, brakes) not terribly overboosted like most domestic (USian) carp. (Volvo 240s have the best clutch and shifter feel i've felt in a long time. the engagement 'point' on the clutch is like 2" long. easy car to teach stick on.)
low key appearance with good or great performance. decent fuel economy (great fuel economy would be even better). anchor-like brakes. fat steering wheel grip.
i could go on and on, but those are the biggies. my 9000 give me all these things.
