super car is that you really can't use it except on a track or in a few places out west. I can imagine crossing Nevada or Montana at 150 to 200 mph. But I'm not sure the road surfaces are good enough.
I'm not even sure there is a track in the US where you could run the thing up to 253 mph (Daytona? Talladega? Indy?). Bonneville would work, but that's not a road. While it'd be a blast to have a Veyron, it would be incredibly frustrating not to be able to use even half its capabilities for more than a few minutes at a time. Cops are one thing, but more importantly, other drivers are not expecting someone coming up behind at triple digit speeds. Even in Germany, RUF top speed tests its tweaked Porsches at night on the autobahn because 200+ mph is fast even over there.
Most of our Saabs will do 135 to 150 mph, but here in the land of low speed limits one can only see the lowest of triple digits on very rare occasions.
Oh, well.
