My mother-in-law had OnStar on one of her previous Chevys. I never paid much attention to it but I am certain the circuitry was contained in a box bolted in the trunk of her Impala, similar in size to a 6-disc CD changer.
I can't believe there is not a way to swap out the old analog box with a new digital box for loyal customers who wish to retain the service.
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot!
