...Mold has become a real issue. Katrina brought it even more to the fore-front. Recently there was even a TLC channel show about some guy who flips houses. One house had mold because of a swimming pool overflow that was directed under a house. They spoke to a guy about mold damage. He made good points about only using a professional. Also made good points about FIRST removing the water leak and letting things dry.

As a physician, I can tell you mold can cause allergies, asthma, weird medical symptoms, and even cancer (some molds contain the MOST cancer causing chemical known to Man aside from radioactive substances).

You and your family are precious. We are expected to live up to 90 years. Do you want to DIY? It sounds like you have a HUGE problem. I would call several companies in the yellow pages, compare them, call consumers to see if anyone has a complaint, see if the licenses are fraudulent, etc... Then make a decision.
