I would say your suspension is toast. It's going on 9 years old & if the shocks are stock they must be bad. My 2K viggen needed new shocks at 45K due to getting afirmer ride & floating over everything.
Consider just adding a set of koni shocks to your car, that will smooth things out!
there should not be that much of a difference going from 16 to 17 (I went from 15 to 18 on my SPG & it rides fine) unless there is another issue with your car, like the shocks
