sounds more like a Harley rider: don't dare touch that front brake lest you flip the bike over, better to stomp on the rear and slide, if you don't think that's going to work, then you'd better lay it down.....
You won't lay down 30' of rubber using that front brake.
I've gone into a corner or two, a little faster than what I felt comfortable. IF the road is good, you can usually turn that bike a lot harder than what you might think. The problem is that so many curves have gravel kicked up in them, from the yahoos in pick-ups, SUV's, other ungainly vehicles where they can't navigate the turn without going off of the pavement.
I hope that she's OK.
