It seems your angst is driven by your fiance's comment on sensibility. Define "sensible". Your time line indicates you're about 25, right? Do you have kids yourself? Does she? If not, what's not sensible about a two door car with tons of cargo room? Does she have her own vehicle? Exactly why do you "have to get rid of the Viggen"? Are you planning on having kids immediately and she wants to be the soccer mom with the big minivan already? The very thought that she questions your Viggen's sensiblilty raises a very tough question "Is she really _the one_ for you?" ;-)
Seriously, you could sell off the "project cars" (including, gasp!, the 900), keep the Viggen for weekend pleasure and replace all the project cars with an early 9-5 Wagon... preferable an Aero. If that's not in your overall budget, then get a 2.3 Wagon with the right option package or a dialed in 9k. That way, you'll have the best of all worlds: a great daily driver with 4 doors and lots of cargo room for all the stuff your future wife wants to haul around in _your_ car. And since the Wagon or 9k would be an older Saab, you can drive the Viggen when the Wagon/9k needs a little TLC (think replacement project car!).

BtW, we have two small kids and the Wagon's perfect for us.
