Wow, I thought I had expensive tastes... ;o) Posted by PGAero [Email] (#1143) [Profile/Gallery] (more from PGAero) on Thu, 30 Aug 2007 14:19:46 In Reply to: the dreaded temple press and sweating eyesockets..., Saabinhappy, Thu, 30 Aug 2007 09:45:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I, on the other hand, have a very narrow face and small head. Most sunglasses don't even grab my face by the usual method of holding lightly to the back of my ears. This means that most that I try on don't press on my temple or stay put at all. Sounds like we have differing points of difficulty in fit.
My earliest memory of Maui Jims was their cheesy polarized mirror, simulating the effect of polarized glasses. It was a gross over-demonstration of the benefits of polarized lenses. (A benefit which only is realized while staring at a mirror designed to be looked at with polarized glasses.) Honestly, it turned me off to the brand simply because their marketing was hype... at the time... about 10 years ago? I still see a MJ polarized mirror in my local sporting store. Now, it's joined by a couple others... all doing the same thing. I see their benefit in determining if a lens is polarized if there is nothing indicating otherwise... a seasoned wearer of polarized lenses doesn't need such a device though. When I tried on my Vuarnets, I was instructed to look at the lake (Tahoe) and see if I saw a difference (I did... and I never want to fish without polarized lenses again).
Anyway, I'm doing fine keeping the UVA/B out of my eyes these days.
