Warranty??? Longish

Car is an 04 Mazda 6. Its my girlfriends car.
Last year the brake caliber mounting hardware was replaced under warranty due to the hardware shifting and rubbing on the rotor creating a groove about 1/2" from the top of the rotor. It also made a metal on metal sound with pads at about 80% life left.
That fix was done 04/06 and that same noise is back. Just a visual inspection reveals the groove in the rotor is back. Girlfriend states that it has been doing this now for about 5 days. I havent had a chance to remove the tire for a closer visual inspection.
Heres the deal...The warranty expired 1,048 miles ago. So now IM looking at replacing both front rotors and possibly pads if they have worn unevenly
Am I wrong to think that I should call MazdaUSA and see if they will pick up the tab??? Rotors are 90$ and pads are about 45$. Not a huge amount but shouldnt this have been fixed correctly the first time or am I asking too much here??
Thanks for the info
Robert
