I would hold the final judgment about LIC dealer, but my initial impression was subpar. Months ago I stopped by to check out the new dealer and service dept, which are half a mile apart BTW, and bought a small bolt for my Saab. They were in the process of setting up the operation and clearly unorganized. The dealer itself looks like an add-on to Cadillac and Hummer operation as an afterthought. I definitely would not have let them work on the waterpump on my Viggen. I reserve recommendation until some positive reports and at least the appearance of a smooth operation.
On the other hand, Roland in Brooklyn was fantastic! I was surprised that he was black saab mechanic, simply because I had never met one before. But, as soon as I pulled into his hard to find shop i could feel the genuine saab vibe. Lots of Saabs parked around waiting to be serviced or picked up. There was a really pimped out Aero, which was hilarious cuz Aeros are usually sleepers. He definitely seemed to understand the particular nature of Saab owners here who ask around to find the right mechanic. He didn't mind me asking questions and price was very competitive for replacing the waterpump and he threw in vacuum hose replacement for free. I used to get my car serviced from an indie Saab master tech in long island for a little higher price. Now I can trust Roland. You should check him out.
