OT: Anyone else having problems with Adobe Flash?? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 23 Jan 2008 03:58:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Over the weekend we started experiencing major problems with Internet Explorer and I eventualy traced them back to Adobe Flash. I-E would freeze and close with the typical Microsoft apology for any inconvienence, or sometimes the "Blue Screen of Death" with a automatic reboot, and sometimes the "Black Screen of Death". The problem got so bad that I-E would fault and close within seconds of opening, each and every time!
I removed Flash then downloaded it again (thinking maybe my copy was corrupted) and had the same results.
I downloaded FireFox, and although it is far more tolerant of whatever Flash problem I am having, it too gives an ocassional warning that all is not well and that it is having problems with Flash too.
Curently we have removed Flash completely, which limits some web browsing abilities, but the machine reliably runs.
Windows XP Home O/S with all updates installed. New McAfee anti-virus installed and machine fully scanned. Ad-Aware SE installed and machine fully scanned. Only 512Meg of RAM, could this now be a limiting factor?
Thanks.
