Sorry to hear this. I've had good experiences from Saab of Santa Monica, both with service, and more recently, with a new lease.
Also, I'm surprised to hear this because it appeared that the same management just opened a new Saturn dealer (in the space on Wilshire 16th, formerly occupied by the Jaguar dealer.) Both the Saturn store and Saab of SM shared the same general manager.
I don't know what you mean by the tax issue in Santa Monica. Taxes in Santa Monica for automobile dealers are capped at a fairly low amount (and all activities by the dealer -- sales, service, parts, etc. fall under the single cap.) I believe this makes taxes for auto dealers much lower in SM than in surrounding Los Angeles.
As I understood it, Saab of SM is/was owned by Pendragon, a giant British car retailing conglomerate. Locally, they owned not only Saab of SM and Saturn of SM, but also Hornburg Jaguar/Land Rover, which recently moved to the eastern part of SM on SM Blvd.
Martin Cadillac also sells Pontiac and GMC, I believe. It is located at the corner of Olympic and Bundy in West LA. I'm afraid that Saab will be lost in that giant GM dealer.
