LOL, I totally agree, this so called tax rebate will only put us into an even deeper hole and delay the inevitable, all the while our Dollar continue to lose its value, we can't afford to simply print more money and not pay for the consequences in the future.
I miss those days when this country used to make things that everybody else wants. Now we out-source jobs and provide and technologies, logistical support and know-how in order to make the products we use everyday. We have raised a generation consumers and my cousin(in his mid 20's) is the perfect example, does his job well enough but launders his cash on the latest disposable toys that have a half-life of 30 days and spends 2 to 3 hours plus a day learning to play the latest X-Box game while TV and internet fills the rest of his void. Despite my repeated, gentle hints such as "Wanna learn a real guitar or drums instaed of the video game facsimile?" he remains the same, almost seems as if he's still in his teens. Can you imagine that in a few years my generation will be running this world! Sigh, I can only wish his dedication and focus can be directed to other skills more fulfilling and challenging. Alas, he's a grown man and not my responsibility, it's all fun and games until s***t hits the fan, I say, we all have to fend for ourselves someday.
I apologize for this extremely long rant, just venting my frustrations that's all. I wonder though if my observation is also prevalent in other parts of the world? Oh, to go back on topic, Do what Ari said, BANK IT! You'll need it later.
