we had a '91 Volvo 940 Turbo wagon. It was lots better than a pony car in snow, but was still a disaster. Even with 4 new 185/65x15 Blizzaks and 100 pounds of sand in the back there were places it just wouldn't go. My wife drove it mostly and she hated it. She grew up learning to drive in RWD cars in a town with lots of hills, so she knows how to drive in snow, but that car had real limits. It would (usually) get you where you needed to go, but it wasn't a good journey.
