Desktops normally support at least 2 hard drives (primary and secondary), and some support more. You might consider buying a new hard drive and doing a full reload of the OS. Of course, you would need a bootable CD of your current OS. I just did that on my laptop yesterday while I was watching the Daytona 500. It took about 30 minutes to load the OS on the new drive and about 2 hours to download and apply over 60 software updates from Microsoft. I've done this quite often on Win98SE, XP-Pro and Vista Business. I've got around 12 bootable hard drives now so a drive failure doesn't bother me much. Your old hard drive can become the seconday drive, so that you will still have access to your old data files. On top of the OS, all other programs will need to be reloaded, so you will need the CDs for them too. I copy all the Cds to a download directory and copy that directory to all my PCs when I reload them. Good luck... Ron
