Yes, I have had the same experience. Once with the hood badge and once with the trunk badge.

Replacements are less than $40USD, but since you referred to yours as a "bonnet badge" I am guessing you may be in the UK.

These badges are held in place by double sided foam tape. Place a folded towel on your hood to protect the paint (I also place a double layer of heavy tape on the paint immediately adjacent to the badge) then use a putty knife to pry the badge off the car.

You will see two locating holes in the hood, and two locating pins on the back-side of the badge, to keep the badge properly aligned when pressing the new one into location.
