Cloisonné, or a close imitation...... Cloisonné is a type of art whereby colors of enamel paint, separated by fine wires, are applied to a base piece of metal such as jewelry, then baked.
With our badges, a base layer of metal with ridges separating the colors is chrome plated, then painted with enamel(?) and fired/baked, then finally polished.
Although I get flamed every time I mention this, keeping your car and badges waxed will significantly lengthen the life of the enamel work.
