SID and pixels

A few months ago, I wrote in inquiring about having my SID repaired because the pixels were slowly burning out. Several people kindly wrote in telling me about vendors who will repair the SID (two dealers said my only option was replacing the SID for $450).
I took the SID out, sent it off to BBA-Reman (see http://www.bba-reman.com). They have an option where you can send your SID in for repair OR they'll send you a replacement, and send your SID in in exchange. I opted for getting my original SID back.
They turned it around in a week. Works as good as new -- and for only $85 with shipping!
I DID discover something interestin while the SID is gone. The following items didn't function while the SID was out: 1) Horn (very annoying because I live in Chicago and a horn is as important as a gas pedal!; 2)turn signal noise (the turn signals worked, but the noise that typically accompanies the turn signals when they're functioning didn't work; 3) the steering wheel control for the radio volume didn't work.
Of course, once I plugged the repaired SID back in, the first thing I did was to check and make sure these things were all functional. They were! Anyway -- if you're contemplating having your SID repaired, I wouldn't hesitate.
