My wife did the Volvo deer test once. Actually the deer ran into the Volvo - $4k damage but could still drive it.
Lot of deer in our area - looking at 7 in the front yard right now.
But both moose and deer are unpredictable and can dart in front (not so much darting than lumbering for the moose) at moments notice. It is not good to hit either.
