No cost or expense for GMC to GM. Just a re-baged Chebbie. No chance of GMC being trimmed. Pontiac has the Solstice which I guess has become luke warm and the G8 is coming up, though one wonders about the wisdom of a new V8 intro at $4+ a gallon. I wanna' see the Australian "El Camino" crew cab version myself, but I know GM doesn't have the balls to sell it here. As exciting as the Enclave is, does it actually sell? Previous Buick/GM SUV clones have done poorly.
Ya'know the fickle thing here is why GM killed it's formerly best selling brand (remember the Olds Cutlass) and arguably it's best looking brand and all the pain and trauma that caused dealers. Cadillac/Olds/GMC dealers have become Cadillac/GMC/Hummer/Saab dealers if they are willing to make the investment in Hummer and Saab facilities.
And so many of the current GM models share architecture and technology that multiple brands aren't that difficult, as in G6/OG-Malibu and the new Malibu/Aura and all of those cars are Epsilon chassis under the skin and very similar to a 9-3SS.
And whatever happened to GM's promise to make Saturn a unique stand alone brand? If finally happened the way the naysayers said it would, Saturn got folded into GM and even stranger not the US GM, but Opel.
We'd like to think that Saab's European influence is important to GM and it's kinda' working that way with Cadillac selling re-bodied Saab in Europe.
GM has Caddy and Chevy, Toyota has Lexus and Toyota, whadda'bout a brand that makes sense for the future like Scion, eh GM?
