First of all, thanks for the help. This has my head a little turned around. This did happen a little more than a week after my gas tank strap broke and new straps were put on, so it seems like quite a coincidence to have these other issues in the same time frame after owning four Saabs over the last 14 years. BUT... What you're saying about the turbo pressure forcing past the valve may make sense too, because shortly after getting the new straps on the tank I bought gas after some non-turbo slow driving and there was nothing like the kind of pressure that came out this time. But the fact that there was pressure coming out, and that's something I've experienced for a long time, especially in cold weather with a low tank volume, I'm not sure the problem hasn't been there for awhile, but less pronounced. I'm no physicist (obviously), and that's why I'm even more confused about the following: Saturday when this happened I released the pressure to see what was going on (after my wife's gas geyser experience) put the cap back on and drove 10 ft into the garage. And then yesterday (after the car had been sitting many hours) I opened the cap again and there was some pressure coming out along with a couple creaking noises of the tank. Too much info? My head's in a knot!
