The company is big enough that if they had declared bankruptcy it would be worldwide news and impossible to miss. I did check the business newlines though.
I can still access the company's secured web pages, just not the remote e-mail. There is a message saying remote service may not work due to server re-building, but servers have always been rebuilt on weekends in the past and never in mid-week.
There is a long sordid history regarding the cell phones in my Dept, and it is possible an edict was made this week to stop cell service due to extremely poor corporate financials.
My boss has not yet contacted me, but I never expected him to even try. Just not in his personality to care. In my message to him I only asked about the cell phones, and requested he contact me thru my wife's cell number since the company's remote e-mail is not working either.
I am looking at this with tongue-in-cheek humor.
