I had one done a couple of months ago. About $300 for the the heater and another $300+ or so for installation. The Sears contractor came and charged my wife $250 additional for changing 6 feet of exhaust flue from 3" to 4" to meet code 20 minutes worth of work. I complained to Sears, they said they don't control contractor prices for "additional services". I filed with better business bureau, and Sears didn't back down. That BBB complaint is unresolved. I researched the contractor, and it turns out he has a string of unresolved BBB complaints, and is rated unsatisfactory by the BBB. I pointed this out to Sears, and they gave me some mumbo jumbo about contractors being fully certified. A plumber friend said that this type of overcharging is common with Sears. I will never again order anything to be serviced by Sears.
