I always felt that the choice to become a full fledge dealership was a bad business move on Roberti's part. Because they ran a used car dealership with the professionalism of a full dealership, buying from them was safe and hassle-free. I bought my Red '95 Aero from him. Their attention customer service was paramount. I would drive from Brooklyn to have them service my car (1 1/2 hr drive).
Roberti's closing, is a very bad sign for Saab and re-affirms my belief that GM is succeeding in ruin Saab as it has done for the company as a whole.
So many dealerships that sold Saab exclusively or as a premium product have disappeared. I feel like my options are fast shrinking. Reinertsen is currently the dealer I use because, like Roberti, I find there people that are passionate about Saab and Saabs only. But I question how much longer they(or any one for that matter) can exist as an exclusive Saab dealer. I get the sense that exclusive Saab dealers are not in GM's interest. And this might be why so many committed Saab dealer are closing shop.
