There is a very nice Pontiac Fiero GT V6 that lives in my neighborhood, the owner obviously loves his car - so yes, I would feel the same way if they screwed up that car the same way as they did this Audi for the "crime" of having had its wheels stolen. The Audi in this case had been sitting there for all of five days - your response indicates that you might believe that people in Washington never travel, or that the owner has nothing better to do than take care of his brush with crime while the entire economy is imploding? Perhaps they take the excellent DC public transport to work and were willing to wait for the parts/repairs. Do we even know what the owner does, and/or who they contacted to take care of the problem? Wasn't part of the story that I saw.
There are towing dollys made for exactly this scenario, the tow truck driver failed to use one and instead decided to intentionally and completely screw up the car - it will never be the same (Audis with Quattro have very finicky four wheel independent suspension that most shops can't align properly). One has to contemplate what the tow truck driver's real motive was.
