A new siren unit was well over $300 at one time, then dropped into the low $200's, then rose in price again.
A new siren, plus one hour of labor, plus taxes, plus the ubiquitous "shop supplies and disposal" fees, would total to nearly $500.
I had my siren disabled by Trio Motos in Burton (south side of Flint) for only $25. A bit of a drive from GR but, depending on the other prices you are quoted, it may be worth your time and gas.
