Tough to replace that broken neck. Rubber is as good as it gets for flat roofs, and I'm sure you shelled out a lot to get it done. If the installers knew what they were doing you should not get any leaks for 10yrs or so, and I'm hoping they wrote you a guarantee with it for 15yrs or more. Probably the worst thing you can do for it is climb around on that rubber and punch holes in it. You may want to build a contraption out of 2x6s that looks like a big push broom to drag snow off the roof if weight becomes a problem.
I'm sure Red Aero Girl values your kiester enough to want to keep it intact through the Winter. I agree that flat roofs are a problem, I just don't think you should complicate it by risking life and limb. Not to mention the integrity of that new rubber/vinyl membrane.
What does the roofer recommend?
