OT: Need receiver opinions NAD 765 vs Integra 8.8 Posted by Caarma [Email] (#592) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Caarma) on Mon, 12 Jan 2009 16:42:52 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I can get the Integra for $1,600 and the NAD (with older codecs) for $1,400. (What do the codecs do anyway?)
The Integra has a lot more features like XM, internet radio, but I've heard NAD's sound "better". I have an XM portable unit and I don't need internet radio.
I'm more into music than video. I like a natural, not shrill, not too bassy sound and I have tall Pinnacle bookshelf speakers with a Velodyne sub.
My other idea was to just buy a 2 channel amp purely for music and keep using my current (10 yr old) Kenwood as the surround sound receiver. But then I'd have to have a switch to the speakers to determine which signal they play. My Kenwood is fine, but it has an annoying interference hum that's there 80% of the time.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Atul
