The biggest difference is that N2 is an inert and has larger molecules than O2 so it does not diffuse through the rubber as readily. Air also has other minor impurities. N2 being inert will not oxidize or have moisture in it so inherently the 'atmosphere' in the tire will be better.
I doubt it matters much in the big scheme of things for your car. Likely more applicable to aircraft tires and other industrial/commercial applications.
