I have a 9-3SS. It's very reliable so far after 4 years and, if this keeps up, could be around for many years to come. With the news, I was thinking about alternatives to Saabs. They are few.

Everyone has their own criteria for a car.

One of mine is safety, medium sized, FWD with a manual transmission. If push comes to shove, AWD and automatic is ok. If the criteria is a manual transmission, the alternatives are few...

The VW Passat doesn't come in a manual (at least in when I looked quickly and carelessly). The Audi A4 doesn't with the FWD model, just the Quattro. The Volvo S60 doesn't anymore in the U.S.

Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Mazda 6, Acura TSX are among the few to fit the criteria.
