The fact that he was already sentenced is bad news. A lawyer was needed before he appeared before the judge. Still you may contact one.
Entrapment is a legal term with criteria that have to be met. I'm not sure what they are. It's just like the word "fraud". There are 5 or 9 elements of fraud that have to be met.
Since he has already been sentenced, appeal may be very difficult. Appeals are often to point out errors of law that the judge made. However, the judge or jury already determined fact, even if it's the wrong fact. A lawyer would know more about this.
If she came to his house, then that would be better for his case. If she said the he needed to come because of the health of the child, same thing.
Is violating the restraining order a crime? Not everything is a crime. A painter breaking a contract may be a civil matter, not a crime.
