I have posted this problem for quite a while now on this site, sometimes I get a response sometimes not. I really need to know what to do. I have a 2004 Arc convertible which I bought a year ago. About 6 months ago I started to hear a high pitched chirp/squeak whenever I went over a speed bump or pot hole, whenever the wheel gets a sharp jolt. It really didn't matter how slow I went. The dealer has been great they have changed the sway bar bushings a control arm the struts
and greased everything they could. The only fix that seemed to work was when they replaced both brake calipers as we thought it was something bouncing in the brake, if you keep your foot on the brake as you go over the bump there is no noise. That fix lasted for about a month then the noise came back. I just got he car back the dealer had called their tech person who said "noise caused by driving over speed bumps to fast" and they changed the bushings again which of course didn't fix the noise. As you can see the dealer was really trying to help but now they have given up. Since there is this binding noise something is wearing and it may be the brakes or suspension which is a concern or maybe its a body part I just dont know anymore. Everyone at the dealership who has gone on a test drive has verified the noise. Please a suggestion. Thanks. the gm tech came to the dealer had a look and said to replace the left control arm. i knew that wasnt the problem and when they were done the noise continued. the service advisor said they all know it is in the brakes but dont know how to fix it.
