I perused Tire Rack reviews for an all season tires with emphasis on winter traction. The top rated winter tires seemed to be pretty good all around. One of the top in that category (195-65-15) is Yokohama Avid TRZ, another for less $$ was Kumho KR21. Interestingly the Kumho weighed 2 pounds per tire less, I took the TRZ's. A down side for the TRZ's is they are a directional tire, I like to "X" 2 tires, at least one time, to even out the wear between the right and left sides. That said, in the summer, I've run directional tires backwards for several thousand miles without any problems.
