plug gap and pinging

Ok I thought my italian tune up solved my slight pining problems, but it seems they are back. (04 ARC).
So is a smaller or larger plug gap more prone to pinging. (I know T7 uses resistance to detect pinging preconditions)
Also, are the platium plugs or the BCPR 6ES plugs more conducive to ping....
TIA
Mark
