You'll have a great time! The SAS sway bars and aero suspension make a difference. My instructor one time (who drives an Elise!) commented on how well my similarly equipped 9k handled - he was very surprised. I've been to a few track days now and have never seen another Saab there, except for a brand new Turbo X one time, but maybe being in the NOrtheast means you'll have some company.
I'm now taking my 944 to track days and I admit I prefer that to the 9k on the track, although the 9k always acquitted itself well.
Make sure you have plenty of life on the brake pads - I don't know NHIS at all but its amazing how quickly some tracks will eat up pads. If it is a track with a lot of heavy braking, using ATE super blue fluid (or similar) wouldn't be a bad idea either. At least make sure your regular fluid has been flushed recently.
Have fun!
